The committee of The Stephen Carey fund met with the parents of young Aidan Jackowiak Smith from Shilbottle this evening to present Aidan with a cheque for £370 following fundraising efforts held within the village on 29th August.
A football match between Old’uns and Young’uns took place in the afternoon which all players making a donation to take part. This was followed by a live music event, held at The Farriers Arms, featuring two local bands The Distorted and NE66. Overall the events raised a total of £740 which was split evenly between The Stephen Carey Fund and the family of Aidan Smith.
The monies will assist in the ongoing travelling costs for Victoria and Karl incurred with regular visits to Great Ormond Street Hospital, Karl said “The way the community has pulled together to support us is truly fantastic”.
