Alnmouth Raft Race 2014

The August Bank Holiday weekend saw a crack squad of amphibious individuals represent The Stephen Carey Fund in the annual Alnmouth Raft Race – never has a finer bunch of people sat on a collection of plastic, wood, rope and copious amounts of sealant in an attempt to sink slowly.

The raft race draws in a fantastic crowd and fills the village for the day making it a “don’t miss” event for your calendar as well as raising valuable funds for the RNLI.

The Stephen Carey Fund team sadly didn’t win but on a positive note neither did we sink nor come last and the whole team certainly enjoyed every moment of it.  Thanks to everyone who cheered us on right to the finish line.

Lastly but not least thanks to the RNLI for keeping us all safe (and helping us get wet) – hope everyone dug deep and helped fill their collection buckets, if you didn’t see one of their buckets and would like to make a donation please click here.
