We have learned this week that one our Public Access Defibrillators was deployed and used, providing two shocks to an individual who had collapsed.
Whilst several of our installations have been previously deployed none that we are aware of to date have ever been used.
It is our understanding that members of the public provided CPR and both acquired and used the defibrillator prior to the arrival of the paramedics.
At this time the outcome of the incident is unknown and in line with data protection and patient confidentiality guidelines The Stephen Carey Fund will be making no further statement unless we have explicit consent from those involved in the incident.
