Following a year of fundraising the team from the Morpeth branch of the Newcastle Building Society presented charity Treasurer Bryan Shendon with a cheque for £730.
Bryan commented “We met the team at the Newcastle Building Society Cornerstone of the Community Awards in 2014 and we obviously impressed as they went on to select us as their charity for 2015”.
The team have undertaken a number of events and activities throughout the year helping not only raise valuable funds for the charity but also increased awareness of the cause.
Shendon continued “We are in contact with a group in the town and whilst it is very early stages their might just be the first Public Access Defibrillator for Morpeth before the year is out”.
The Trustees of The Stephen Carey Fund would like to thank the Newcastle Building Society and in particular all those associated with the Morpeth branch for the opportunity and also not forgetting the generous public who have put their hands in their pocket to show faith in what we are doing.
