Defibrillator unveiled at Longhoughton

Defibrillator in Longhoughton
Westfield Park in Longhoughton now complete with Public Access Defibrillator

The community of Longhoughton has this month seen the installation of a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) within the village.

Discussions with local First Responder John Lewis a few months back, and subsequent approval by The Longhoughton Village Development Trust, resulted in the installation of this device.

The PAD has been installed at Westfield Park, a modern sports and community facility completed in 2009, due to it’s central location, ample and easy parking and also due to the fact that the centre is well used and therefore the location of the PAD will be highly visible to all visitors.  John was keen to stress “this isn’t just a benefit for all the adult and junior teams who utilise this facility it was absolutely something for the benefit of the wider community of the village”.
